DescriptionThe link-road at Spring Valley connects the new bridge in Enniscorthy to Shannon Hill. It twists around a steep incline giving a majestic view of the town and the surrounding countryside. Enniscorthy Town Council appointed Niall Barry & Co to carry out the civil engineering works. This included excavation, leveling, kerbing, drainage, footpaths and public lighting. Bennett Tarmacadam was responsible for the main surfacing which required final grade preparation, 60mm of 20mm dense base course macadam, 40mm of 30% 14mm hot-rolled asphalt wearing course and 20mm pre-coated chippings. The project was completed in January 1998. Please note that the above photos were taken in November 2003, approximately five years after the original work.
