1998: The Ramblings, Piercestown

The Ramblings is an elegant rural residential development situated in close proximity to a number of large employers, many of whom are newly arrived in the area. The decentralisation of the Department of Agriculture to nearby Johnstown Castle and the arrival of the EPA and PFPC have driven the demand for local housing. Bennett Tarmacadam was contracted by the developers, Cleary Doyle Contracting, to complete surfacing works within the estate. This included final grade preparation using fine crushed quarry screenings, 60mm of 20mm dense base course and 40mm of 10mm dense wearing course. The project involved a total surface area of 5,900 square metres and was completed in December 1998. Please note that the above photos were taken in November 2003, approximately five years after the original work.
