2001: Waterworld, Courtown

Description

Waterworld is a large indoor water amenity located in Courtown, a popular tourist destination on the Wexford coast. It is the focal point of Forest Park, a major new development for the village. Forest Park was developed on 20 acres of woodland with the objective of providing a family-oriented attraction that would stretch the holiday season and not suffer from the vagaries of Irish weather. John Sisk & Son, the main contractor for this development, appointed Bennett Tarmacadam to complete the surfacing of the car park and public roadways. This required final grade preparation, 60mm of 20mm dense base course and 40mm of 14mm dense wearing course. The project involved a total surface area of 3,765 square metres and was completed in August 2001. Please note that the above photos were taken in November 2003, approximately two years after the original work.
